CAM Life drawing 9-22-15

The pose itself has such a poignancy that to render it with some expression was fairly easy. Keeping to the cool and neutral colors, pointing up the somberness, yet still holding on to the drama was the hard part. 18x24 on prepared Bristol, 25 minute pose.

CAM Life Drawing 9-8-15

This is a 15 minute graphite and white pastel pencil drawing. I did 3 colored pastels of 3 poses but wasn't happy with any of them. This one I like. Maybe it's the looseness - not overworked as I tend to do.

CAM Life Drawing 7-14-15 25 minutes #2

I like the design on this one. Handmade pastel ground on Bristol, 18x24, pastel

CAM Life Drawing 7-14-15 25 -minute drawing #1

Pastel on handmade ground paper. 18x24, 25 minutes.

CAM Life Drawing 7-14-15 #2

Same as previous drawing. Awkward hand position presents a challenge to "draw what you see, not what you know". Once you get past that it seems to work better. I took this one home and fixed the hand!

Had a good night! Usually do with Ms. S! 15 minute drawing, graphite/white pastel on toned paper, 18x24

CAM Life Drawing 6-30-15

The 1-pose long pose night is not typically my favorite. I must have the attention span of a housecat! So to remedy my lack of patience, I employed a watercolor underpainting, had to wait for it to dry (which makes me take time to just look at the pose and drawing) and then applied pastel over. The paper is a hand colored clear gesso/pastel ground on Bristol.

CAM Life Drawing 5-5-15 #2

This was the second pose, and my intention was to work in the same way as  the first drawing, but I so liked the graphite I decided to quit when I was ahead. I had to elevate my view (being rather sawed-off), so I stood on my knees on a stool so I could see more torso. One must sometimes suffer for one's art - HA! This is done in graphite, with grey and white pastel, on Bristol.

CAM Life Drawing 5-5-15

Extended pose night, so I thought I would experiment again. Pastel over watercolor over graphite on Bristol board.

Life drawing 4-14-15

After a long hiatus and dry spell, I decided to create something with a different media, just to shake things up a bit. This is done with liquid graphite powder and chalk on grey paper.

Pose 3 I'm done!

I was just trying to get something down on paper, lots of work needed on this one, may just go into the bonfire pile! (I have a HUGE bonfire pile! HA!)

Pose 2 CAM Life Drawing 3-10-15

Running out of gas by this time!

Exhaustiing Day 3-10-15 CAM Life Drawing

New model's first night, excellent job, a natural! This is the first drawing of the eve, and I still had a little leftover energy.

CAM Life Draw 2-3-15 drawing 2

Extended pose #2 - I'm just wore completely out by this time - it's all I could do to just get this design on the page, much less deal with palette issues!

CAM Life Drawing 2-3-15

After a VERY long day of teaching, library work, etc. I was pretty much wiped out. I wanted to keep my palette brighter and this is as far as I got with extended pose night - not my favorite time scale.
