Welcome

This is about improving our drawing experiences, and hopefully have something to build on and expand our critiques. If you have a drawing you want to talk about, you should be able to post pictures and comments. If you have difficulty, just email me! Should be fun! Thanks!

Drawings 1-24-12

15 minute pose - not perfect - but not overworked either - as I tend to do . . .
What unexpected things that can happen to colors when you put them together. You may not be able to see it here, but the sienna color is the same color as in the 15 minute pose, and here, it jumps to red after adding the red blanket in. So enjoy playing with the reflected color and texture of the pastels.
Proportions a bit off and a few areas need repair, but overall, much looser in application.

  1. love! the use of reds and warms in the third drawing ... that red sheet really got us going. I did a red/orange/yellow drawing last night. Not your normal manly colors. Your second drawing looks stiff and caveman-like ... which, in this case is very accurate. First drawing is very nice! yeah!

    1. He does have a formal personae which does hamper a looser look - but it's not the model - it's operator error - HA! And sorry I don't get around to look at other people's stuff - I'm so absorbed I forget. Why don't you post your drawing here, or send me a pic and I'll post it - I want to see it?
