CAM life drawing 2-2-15

Extended pose night is not usually my favorite drawing time. I work fast so it takes great discipline for me to slow down and adjust my thinking accordingly. This was the 2nd of 2 poses and the most successful. It is a high key value system and everything is soft soft. Not what I usually do!

Last but not least, relaxed into just graphite on drawing paper

Sometimes the simpler the better - just graphite on plain drawing paper. I like this one best of all.

CAM life drawing 12-15-15

Both of these are 15-minute warm up drawings. Graphite and white chalk on toned paper.

CAM Life drawing 9-22-15

The pose itself has such a poignancy that to render it with some expression was fairly easy. Keeping to the cool and neutral colors, pointing up the somberness, yet still holding on to the drama was the hard part. 18x24 on prepared Bristol, 25 minute pose.

CAM Life Drawing 9-8-15

This is a 15 minute graphite and white pastel pencil drawing. I did 3 colored pastels of 3 poses but wasn't happy with any of them. This one I like. Maybe it's the looseness - not overworked as I tend to do.
